Feedback from participants

  • Understand how the participants and possible partners perceived the situation. What was successful in the discussion and what was not?
  • Develop into a better leader of discussions
  • Find out which ways of inviting were the most efficient ones
  • Find out whether any such people attended who do not usually participate
  • Who was missing from the discussion

How?

The best way to collect feedback is to do it directly after the discussion has ended, when the participants are still present. Keep the questionnaire compact. Also remember the objectives of the discussion when you are planning the questions for the feedback survey and ask about them indirectly.

For example, you can ask:

  • What kind of experience was the discussion for you?
  • What was successful? What would you improve?
  • Where did you get the invitation to the discussion?
  • Had you previously participated in an event dealing with (societal) issues?
  • Who else should participate in the discussion in order for it to cover as many points of view as possible?
